I bought this after researching Menke mirrors on YouTube, the video I watched showed a man fitting a version in 20 mins, he was able to do this because the version of the mirror he used had a large recess at he back of the mirror frame, this IS NOT a feature of all models., although the instructions with each model show a small one on the views it is smaller even than the cable thickness. I was unable to find a version that had this deep recess. As such be prepared to have to cut grooves in the surface that you are fitting it onto allowing you to clear the connectors and cables and sink them below the surface. However once done it looks great and functions as described.

Nice looking mirror, had mine for 8 months. When fitting the cable will sit between the unit and the wall (if the hole in the wall is not in the exact location) as long as it’s within the frame. Fixed with two screws to the top, also using two spots of silicone in the bottom corners can secure it to the wall if you wish.

Very good mirror which can be mounted either v or h however back is encased so if cable runs along mirror back then mirror won’t sit flush to wall I used spacers on mirror fixing to sort this issue

The media could not be loaded. Mirror arrived well packaged. I tested the mirror functionality by quickly adding a 3 pin plug before installation, everything worked with no issues. We had a set height that the live feed came out of the wall, the unit itself has a flex which is central to the back of the unit. I decided to move this by popping the back cover off by removing the rubber strips which hold it in place. I made a new hole closer to where my connection box is, reinstalled the flex and popped the cover back on. I noticed the unit has a good size demister pad for the money. There's only two key slots at the top of the frame to hang unit, it is vital you get these screws perfectly level for the mirror to sit straight. Due to the flex exiting straight out of the rear of the unit, there's not enough clearance between the wall and the rear cover for the unit to sit perfectly flush and I wanted a perfectly tight fit. Other more expensive units have a frame which you attach to the wall first. This makes the frame fit flush and tight to the wall and makes for easier installation. I overcame this by running a bead of silicone (Dowsil 785 Transparent) around the edges to act like a glue. This also has the benefit of further protecting the electrics from any damp and gives you the ability to adjust for any small levelling issues. I propped mine up with an inverted quick-grip clamp to hold level for half an hour as it was 2mm out from level. Overall, installation was relatively easy held back by some silly design issues. Worth mentioning that the LED strips are visible from the sides but only when looking close to the wall. I wouldn't recommend installing without silicone, especially in houses with children as it would be possible to pop the unit off or waggle the bottom away from the wall. I don't see why this unit shouldn't last a long time providing it's installed well. I think it looks great for the money, had far more expensive ones that look worse.
